      Investigators opened a criminal case after a dog attacked a child in Kstovo District. This was reported by the prosecutor’s office of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      The incident occurred in the village of Sokolovo. According to media reports, in August a dog attacked a three-year-old girl, causing bodily injuries.

      The investigative department for the city of Kstovo initiated a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 118 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — causing grievous bodily harm by negligence.

      The prosecutor’s office is supervising the progress of the investigation and the establishment of all circumstances of the incident.

      It should be noted that this is not the first dog attack in Kstovo District that resulted in criminal cases being opened. In early August, for example, Alexander Bastrykin ordered a criminal case to be opened over the attack of a stray dog on a child in the village of Zeletsino.
