A group of activists from Nizhny Novgorod has been sent to the United Russia volunteer center in Kursk Oblast. The main task of the delegation is to assist in the restoration of socially significant facilities and housing stock damaged by the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Six volunteers will take part in clearing rubble, construction work and the improvement of the region’s facilities over the course of a week.

The mission included men who have undergone the necessary training to work in a border-area environment. They are searchers, participants in the Special Military Operation, activists of the Combat Brotherhood of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. During their week-long working visit, the Nizhny Novgorod residents will be engaged in restoring damaged buildings, repairing roofs and glazing windows in residential buildings and social facilities in several towns of Kursk Oblast.

“When the request came that volunteers were needed to go to Kursk Oblast, to Sudzha, to provide the necessary assistance, I made the decision easily — we had to go. I am a member of the Combat Brotherhood of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast; we have helped fighters before, delivered humanitarian aid, and we will continue to do so. We have the strength, we have the time and, most importantly, the desire. There is no rear or front in the current war; everyone’s contribution matters,” said volunteer “landing” participant Pasha Sadoyan.

“We send off concerned Nizhny Novgorod residents to the United Russia Volunteer Center in Kursk Oblast, where construction work and rubble clearing are underway in liberated Sudzha. New groups of volunteers ready to go and help are formed every two weeks. People respond actively, gather willingly and go to support those who have gotten into trouble. The motto of our region — ‘Kupno za edino’ — is truly embodied in initiatives like these,” emphasized Dmitry Filipenko, head of the regional executive committee of the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of the United Russia party.

The group of volunteers set off in a search-and-rescue vehicle provided by PSO “Volunteer NN.” This vehicle is a mobile command post. It is fully autonomous — lighting, heating, additional powerful sound system, radio communications, printers, a large number of sleeping places, campfire equipment.

Nizhny Novgorod volunteers already have significant experience participating in humanitarian missions and restoration works in various emergencies — our volunteers actively helped in the aftermath of the flooding in Orenburg, the fuel oil spill in the Black Sea and other incidents. Now the skills they have accumulated will be needed in the border region of Russia that suffered from an attack by ukro-fascists.

“True heroes went to help our fellow countrymen in Kursk Oblast — volunteers who, following a call of the heart, go to restore destroyed homes and social facilities. This is our human and civic duty to those who found themselves in trouble. Our volunteers are bringing not only tools and building materials, but also a piece of Nizhny Novgorod warmth, and a readiness to share their strength and skills. I am confident that together we will help the civilians of the border territories return to a comfortable life more quickly,” shared Maria Samodelkina, General Director of ANO “Volunteer Center of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.”
