      The Prioksky and Leninsky districts of Nizhny Novgorod celebrated their 90th anniversary. Mayor Yuri Shalabaev congratulated residents during the ceremonial events (0+) timed to coincide with City Day and the districts' anniversary, the city administration press service reported.

      In Switzerland Park the mayor congratulated residents on the double celebration and presented letters of appreciation to the winners of the children's drawing contest "Native Prioksky." The awards went to Elizaveta Elkina, a pupil of School No. 174; Aleksey Surkin, a pupil of School No. 48; Sofya Karmaeva, a pupil of Gymnasium No. 17; and Marta Ridzely, a pupil of School No. 89.

      Yuri Shalabaev noted that the young artists expressed their love for their home district and city through their works. He thanked the children for their sincere drawings and the parents for supporting and raising talented children.

      In the Leninsky district on City Day a ceremony was held to honor the best representatives of working professions. The head of the city emphasized that it is these people—teachers, doctors, workers and employees—who are the support and pride of Nizhny Novgorod. He wished them health, happiness and new achievements.

      Also as part of the celebration Yuri Shalabaev presented the "For Courage" medal to Denis Kuzhelev, a veteran of the special military operation and head of the charitable foundation "Commonwealth Reborn by the People 'Phoenix'".

      Recall that on 16 August the capital of the Volga region celebrated the 804th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod. It was also reported that, in honor of the holiday, a fairy-tale-style projection mapping will adorn the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin.
