Two teenagers from Cheboksary died of burns in Nizhny Novgorod
Two boys who suffered burns in a fire in a trailer in Cheboksary died in the burn unit of PIMU. This information was confirmed by the children's ombudsman of Chuvashia, Alevtina Fedorova.
On August 8 a trailer caught fire on Marposadskoye Highway. Lawn mowers and containers with fuel were being transported in it. Four boys aged 16–17 were riding with the cargo, which is strictly prohibited.
All the injured were taken to PIMU hospital. One of the boys suffered the worst burns — almost his entire body was burned. The other three had injuries ranging from one quarter to two thirds of their skin. All were in critical condition.

Children's ombudsman Alevtina Fedorova expressed condolences to the parents and emphasized that the doctors fought until the end. But not all could be saved — two boys are still in intensive care. The Investigative Committee has opened an investigation into the case.
“It is difficult to find words to express our pain; we extend our deepest condolences to the family,” Fedorova said.
Earlier, Investigative Committee officers accused an official in the death of a 6-year-old boy in Nizhny Novgorod.
