Passenger traffic from Nizhny Novgorod to Saint Petersburg increased by 12% from January to July.

      Passenger traffic by long-distance trains to Saint Petersburg maintained positive growth on the Gorky Railway in January–July 2025.

      Trains running from Nizhny Novgorod toward Russia’s northern capital were used by 91.4 thousand people over the seven months. This is 12% more than in the same period last year. Six direct and transit trains operate between the Volga region’s capital and Saint Petersburg.

      From Kazan, 43.2 thousand people traveled in this direction (+15%). One train runs between the capital of Tatarstan and Saint Petersburg.

      Long-distance trains from Kirov to Saint Petersburg carried 37.3 thousand passengers in January–July (+13.5%). The city on the Vyatka River and the cultural capital are linked by seven direct and transit trains.

      From Izhevsk, 17 thousand passengers traveled in this direction (+14.4%). One train runs between the cities.

      Please note that on certain dates in August and September 2025 the named trains No. 59/60 “Volga” Nizhny Novgorod – Saint Petersburg and No. 133/134 “Povolzhye” Kazan – Saint Petersburg will arrive at Ladozhsky Station. Departures of these trains during this period will also be from Ladozhsky Station. The temporary changes are due to reconstruction work at Saint Petersburg–Glavny station.
