A Mercedes and a Citroën were seized from debtors during a raid in Nizhny Novgorod.

      A joint raid by bailiffs and the traffic police took place in Nizhny Novgorod using the "Road Bailiff" system. During the operation, cars belonging to five residents of the region who owed more than one million rubles in total were seized. This was reported by the regional office of the Federal Bailiff Service (FSSP) of Russia.

      According to the office, the automated system installed at the stationary DPS post "Meshchersky" made it possible to quickly identify vehicles belonging to debtors. The system is integrated with the Federal Bailiff Service's database and recognizes in real time vehicles whose owners have outstanding obligations.

      Within a few hours of operation, officers identified five drivers who were indebted on taxes, loans, administrative fines, utilities and alimony. All of them were aware of their debts. As a result of the raid, vehicles including Citroën and Mercedes models and others were seized and placed in safekeeping.

      Owners of the cars were given a 10-day period to repay the debt. If the requirements are not met, the vehicles will be sold to pay off the debts.
