      A fatal road traffic accident involving a passenger car and a truck occurred on the Southern Highway in Nizhny Novgorod on the afternoon of August 12.

      According to the regional traffic police, the accident happened at around 12:20 in the area of building No. 1V. A woman born in 2004 was at the wheel of the Lada Priora passenger car.

      It was preliminarily established that the driver violated traffic signs and road markings by making a left turn at an unauthorized location. At that moment, a collision occurred with a Shacman truck driven by a man born in 1978.

      The woman died at the scene from her injuries — ambulance medics who arrived in response to the call only confirmed her death.

      Traffic police officers are now continuing to establish all the circumstances and causes of the incident.

      Earlier it was reported that, due to the death of a Nizhny Novgorod teenager in a road accident, the head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, ordered that a case be opened.
