Residents of the Oksky Bereg residential complex opposed the construction of a Wildberries warehouse.

      Society: In the settlement of Novinki in the Nizhny Novgorod region, residents of the "Oksky Bereg" residential complex spoke out against plans to build a Wildberries logistics center. A video appeared on the complex’s social media.

      According to residents, the plot where a warehouse of about 150,000 square meters is planned was originally intended for a park, a stadium and a shopping and entertainment center. The plot in question covers 33.5 hectares and is located within the boundaries of Parkovaya, Vysokaya and Poletnaya streets — not far from the "Oksky Bereg" residential complex.

      Local residents recorded a video appeal to the president and regional authorities. In it they expressed concern that an industrial facility could appear next to residential buildings, a school and a kindergarten. According to the project, about 5,000 people will work at the warehouse. Residents are asking where the employees will be accommodated and how this will affect the district’s infrastructure.

      In June, Novinki residents who took part in public discussions did not support the possible construction of the warehouse. They stress that they have repeatedly expressed their opposition to this project. In their view, the warehouse will worsen the environmental situation, create noise and increase traffic.

      The land plot is now up for auction. The auction is scheduled for August 22. Investments in the project are estimated at 12 billion rubles; construction is planned to be completed by the end of 2027.

      Earlier it was reported that the logistics center of the OZON marketplace in the Kanavinsky district received a positive conclusion from a non-state examination.
