      More than 80 women from Nizhny Novgorod have applied to participate in the regional stage of the "Mom-Entrepreneur" program. The project in the Nizhny Novgorod region is overseen by the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Entrepreneurship and the Regional Center "My Business." The program is part of the list of tools within the federal project "Small and Medium-Sized Entrepreneurship" of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy." "In 2025, particular attention within the program will be given to developing projects in priority sectors of the economy: manufacturing, IT, tourism, agriculture, and creative industries. Applications focused on key industries are prioritized, special tracks for businesses in historically significant regions have been introduced, and the grant amount has been increased to 150,000 rubles to strengthen financial support for projects. However, we see that women tend to include a social component in their business projects—from preserving cultural memory to supporting families with special needs and developing local communities," said Tatiana Iliushnikova, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia. When selecting applications, priority will be given to projects oriented towards key sectors of the economy, with a clear description of the target audience, a highlighted competitive advantage, and preliminary financial calculations for project implementation. Up to 35 women from Nizhny Novgorod will be selected for the regional stage to present the most promising business ideas. Participants will undergo a five-day intensive training, during which a team of experts will cover topics such as legislative regulation of business, business models, marketing fundamentals, and presentation skills. The winner will have the opportunity to participate in the federal stage of the competition," said Maxim Cherkasov, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Women living and registered in the region, on maternity leave or with children up to 18 years old (until the end of 2025), who do not have a registered business or have been in business for no more than a year, and who have a business idea aimed at creating and developing their own enterprise, are eligible to participate in the "Mom-Entrepreneur" program. Participants will have the chance to undergo advanced training in entrepreneurial skills and compete for grants of 1 million, 500,000, and 250,000 rubles. Last year, Anna Eliseeva, a manager at the IngUp design bureau specializing in re-engineering, from Nizhny Novgorod, became the regional and federal winner of the "Mom-Entrepreneur" program. She received 100,000 rubles at the regional stage and 1 million rubles as the prize for winning at the federal stage.
