Nizhny Novgorod Volleyball Team ASK ("Association of Sports Clubs") has received a new name — "Gorky"
Nizhny Novgorod Volleyball Team ASK ("Association of Sports Clubs") has received a new name — "Gorky." According to the "Center for Management and Development of Sports in the Nizhny Novgorod Region," this name was chosen by the fans via electronic voting. The result — 59% in favor of the new name for the main men's team. Along with this, "Gorky" received a new brand book, logo, and colors. The presentation of the new corporate identity took place on August 2 during the first Nizhny Novgorod Mayor's Cup in beach volleyball. The event united the city’s volleyball community: amateurs and professional athletes of world level. In addition to volleyball matches, a wide entertainment program was organized for guests: yoga and paddleboarding workshops, activities for children. The main star guest of the Cup was the DJ duo Swanky Tunes.
ASK Volleyball Club was established in 2016. In its first season, ASK upgraded its class: winning 38 out of 40 matches in the Top League "B" and earning the right to compete in the Top League "A." After another season, the club moved up to the Super League, where it still competes. Over the years, ASK has also participated in the Russian Cup.
The main element of the new "Gorky" logo is a flying petrel — a bird symbolizing freedom, strength of spirit, and courage, as depicted in Maxime Gorky's "Song of the Petrel." At the same time, the bird's silhouette resembles the letter "G" — the first letter in "Gorky" — and the shape of a volleyball player serving.
The primary color of the brand book is a rich red, symbolizing passion, dynamics, and the strength of competition. The club previously used a darker shade, but now the palette is fresher and brighter.
Secondary colors include a wine-red, which adds emotion and strength and is perfect for accents, and light blue, evoking a sense of lightness and space. The palette is complemented by a dark blue providing background depth and contrast, as well as light gray shades.
