On August 1st, the Russian Orthodox Church commemorates the memory of Father Seraphim; this day marks the translation of the saint's relics. The Department of Spiritual and Moral Culture invites you to visit the book-illustrative exhibition "All Russia’s Wonderworker," dedicated to the memory of the venerable. Venerable Seraphim of Sarov (born Prokhor Isidorovich Moshin) is a symbol of the Christian feat and humility. His life became an example of pilgrimage to God. He is a special Russian saint. Even icons depicting the priest differ from all others. Father Seraphim has always been an integral part of Russian life, and he remains so today. Miracles occurred during his earthly life and continue through his current prayer ministry to Orthodoxy and the Russian people. It is hard to imagine a more Russian saint than Seraphim of Sarov. Dozens, hundreds of pilgrims visit the relics in the coffin at the Holy Trinity Seraphimo-Diveevsky Monastery daily. All know that Saint Seraphim will not leave them in trouble and will pray for each at the throne of Heavenly God. People pray before the icons of Elder Seraphim for healing from illnesses and mental distress, family well-being, and ask for protection from misfortunes and calamities. The book-illustrative exhibition will continue until the end of August. You can visit it during library hours.
