The manager of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese inspected the under-construction refectory building of the Diveyevo Monastery.

On July 29, at the Trinity-Sermon-Sarafo-Diveevo Convent, Metropolitan Georgiy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas inspected the monastic refectory building, familiarizing himself with the progress of construction work underway there. The reigning hierarch was accompanied by Deputy Presidential Envoy to the Volga Federal District Igor Panshin, Deputy Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region Petr Bannikov, Mother Superior of Diveevo Monastery Igumeni Sergiya (Konkova), Director of the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Management Company for the Development of the Sarovsko-Diveevsky Cluster and Nizhny Novgorod Region" Igor Filippov, Head of the Organizational Department of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese Protopriest Alexander Malafeev, other clergy of the diocese, sisters of the monastery, and representatives of contracting organizations. It is worth recalling that the head of the Nizhny Novgorod diocese laid the foundation for the refectory building at Diveevo Monastery on October 31, 2022. The total area of the two-story building is 3,025 square meters. It is planned to accommodate dining halls and auxiliary rooms; the first floor will also house food production workshops, and the basement will contain storage and technical rooms. The future refectory is designed for 440 visitors. Conditions will also be created for people with disabilities. The construction is part of the development of the pilgrimage and tourist cluster "Arzamas – Diveevo – Sarov." The customer is the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Management Company for the Development of the Sarovsko-Diveevsky Cluster and Nizhny Novgorod Region." In October 2021, the project for the construction of the refectory for workers and pilgrims on the monastery grounds received a positive conclusion from the State Expertise Department of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.

      For reference: the development project of the pilgrimage and tourist cluster "Arzamas — Diveevo — Sarov" in Nizhny Novgorod Region is implemented with the support of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus'. In April 2018, an autonomous non-profit organization, "Management Company for the Development of the Sarovsko-Diveevsky Cluster and Nizhny Novgorod Region," was established. The priority tasks of the project include the revival of the Sarov and Diveevo monasteries, development of transport infrastructure, creating conditions to increase tourist flow, and ensuring comfortable stay for tourists and pilgrims in the cluster area.
