The CPRF summarized its work in the State Duma over the past six months.
Permanent coordinator of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation faction in the State Duma Nikolai Kolomeitsev, after the session closure, spoke about the party's results over the half year and shared his assessment of the current political situation. The interview with the speaker was published by the newspaper "Soviet Russia" and is also available on the party's website. He emphasized that over the past six months, the faction actively participated in parliamentary hearings and defended citizens' interests while maintaining the status of an opposition force. Kolomeitsev added that the CPRF bases its initiatives on a deep understanding of public sentiment and socio-economic conditions. He expressed a critical view of the current state of the economy and the policies of the Central Bank, drawing attention to the high key interest rate, which significantly exceeds the profitability of many industries, including manufacturing and construction. Kolomeitsev stated that maintaining such a high rate hampers development, exacerbates economic difficulties, and does not contribute to combating inflation, which he associates with stopping production rather than the money supply. He noted that the state has tools to stimulate the economy, but they are not sufficiently used. During this period, the party submitted 224 bills to the State Duma, which reflect the CPRF's program priorities. These include initiatives for the nationalization of key industries, support for "children of war" — elderly citizens in need of social assistance, and multiple attempts to change pension legislation, which, according to the faction, is not working in the interests of the population and causes more harm. Kolomeitsev also highlighted the development of a new Labor Code and a bill on trade unions, emphasizing the need to strengthen workers' protections amid weakening union structures. He pointed out that protections for union leaders have significantly diminished, and the lack of collective agreements at most enterprises reduces workers' social security levels. According to him, the wage level in Russia is significantly lagging behind developed countries, where salaries can make up to 40% of GDP, whereas in Russia, this figure does not reach even 8%. It was previously reported that the Communists of Nizhny Novgorod sent a humanitarian cargo to Novorossiya.
