Drunk man on stolen tractor involved in an accident in Shatkovsky district

      In the Shatkovsky district, a suspect in a tractor theft has been detained, reports the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      A resident of the village of Arkhangelskoye approached the police and reported that an unknown person had stolen his Belarus-82.1 tractor.

      A DPS patrol that arrived at the scene found the stolen vehicle, which had crashed into an outbuilding on Mekhanizatorov Street.

      The detained 21-year-old, previously not convicted and unemployed from Sverdlovsk region, explained that while intoxicated, he saw an open tractor with keys inside at the base and decided to drive it.

      Later, the man lost control and caused an accident.

      Police also established that the offender did not have the right to operate vehicles.

      A criminal case has been initiated.

      An administrative material has also been filed against the offender for driving under the influence.
