Most residents of Nizhny Novgorod admit that they get distracted by personal matters and entertainment during working hours. This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the staffing service Headhunter.

According to the study, 77% of Nizhny Novgorod residents regularly read and reply to personal messages in messengers during the workday. Another 26% leave their workplaces to handle personal issues — visiting a doctor, going to the bank, or visiting a government office.

About 20% of respondents admitted to browsing social networks or viewing entertainment content while working. Every sixth (15%) watches movies or series alongside performing official duties. Tasks at home are undertaken by 13% of those surveyed, and 10% allow themselves a nap during the day.

Additionally, 9% of residents study during working hours, 8% meet with relatives and friends, and 4% manage to visit the gym.

Among professionals, activity levels vary. For example, IT specialists more often combine work with watching series and videos — 22% of respondents from this field do so. They also lead in combining work with hobbies (13%) and daytime sleep (13%).

Marketing employees more frequently step away for personal matters — 34%. Conversely, financiers are less distracted by outside activities but more often check messengers — 85% of this group admitted to chatting in messengers during work hours.
