United Metallurgical Company (OMK) has launched an interactive educational program—an online quest-robot—in the format of "online holidays" for the children of all its employees. Over two weeks, the kids will not only have fun but also get to know more about professions related to metallurgy.
The "Holidays with Iron Kids" project is specifically designed for a young audience. Its characters are the figures from the animated series of the same name created by OMK. In the animated episodes, Iron Kids explain production processes and the company's products in simple and understandable language. Now, they also accompany children in the online quest, helping them complete tasks and learn new things.
Each day, participants receive assignments via a Telegram bot. In a playful manner, children familiarize themselves with the professions of their parents working at the company's plants. For example, they need to find out what an automation engineer does and why an electrician is needed.
Among the initial tasks are drawing a card for metallurgists, interviewing parents about the specifics of their work, and attempting to identify wheel defects, just like a real specialist.
As Ekaterina Koshienko, head of Corporate Social Responsibility at OMK, explained, the program will last for two weeks. Currently, over 500 children are participating in the online quest, and each day the number continues to grow.
