A 69-year-old woman from Nizhny Novgorod was left without her apartment and nine million rubles after trusting "a voice from the phone."

      A 69-year-old resident of Nizhny Novgorod became a victim of fraudsters and lost more than 9,000,000 rubles. According to information received from a report by the authorities, the woman, who worked as an accountant in the Lenin district of the city, for four months followed the instructions of phone scammers, transferring her savings and selling her property. This is reported by the press service of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Police.

      First, she withdrew 5,000,000 rubles from her account and transferred it to the scammers' specified details. Then, the scammers persuaded her to sell her apartment for 4,000,000 rubles — she immediately sent 1,000,000 rubles via an ATM to an unknown account, and handed over the remaining money to an unidentified man who arrived in the Moscow region for this purpose.

      The total loss incurred by the woman exceeded 9,000,000 rubles. A criminal case has been opened under the fraud article, and investigative actions are ongoing.
