Nizhny Novgorod resident sentenced to 14 years in prison for treason

      Residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region and Tver have been found guilty of committing treason in favor of Ukraine. This was reported by the FSB of Russia in the Nizhny Novgorod region on July 25, 2025. It was established that a 1998 born resident of Nizhny Novgorod formed a negative attitude toward the SVO (Special Military Operation) among a 2001 born resident of Tver. Subsequently, the Nizhny Novgorod resident persuaded the latter to join a Ukrainian terrorist organization banned in Russia. The court sentenced the Tver resident to 17 years of strict regime imprisonment, and the Nizhny Novgorod region resident to 14 years. The sentence has not yet entered into legal force.
