      Incidents Investigative authorities have initiated a criminal case against the deputy general director of the municipal treasury institution "GUMMID" of Nizhny Novgorod on suspicion of abuse of official authority. This was reported by the FSB Department for the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      According to investigators, in 2024, "GUMMID" signed a contract with a private company for major repairs of a overpass in the Leninsky district. After signing the agreement, the official began to exert pressure on the contractor’s management.

      Using threats, he attempted to coerce the entrepreneur into entering into a subcontractor agreement with another company, headed by his father. As pressure, the suspect promised to create artificial obstacles during the acceptance of work on all municipal contracts, including the repair of the overpass.

      As a result, the contractor had to sign an unfavorable agreement worth over 200 million rubles.

      Currently, the suspect is under house arrest. The investigation continues.

      It was previously reported that the former director of Nizhny Novgorod’s "Teploenergo" Ilya Halturin was remanded in custody for another two months.
