Society Trains operating between Nizhny Novgorod and Moscow remain extremely popular among residents of Nizhny Novgorod and visitors to the region. Passenger traffic on this route increased by 1.5% in the first half of the year. Currently, 28 direct and transit trains run between the Volga capital and the Russian capital. However, this is often not enough due to high demand and flight restrictions at airports caused by UAV threats.
The need to increase the number of trains was also expressed by the governor of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Gleb Nikitin.
A journalist from "Moskvichka" noted that it is now almost impossible to buy a ticket for "Lastochka," as they simply are not available.
In response, Nikitin addressed the management of Russian Railways through a magazine.
"We do not have enough trains between Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod; we need more!" — said the governor.
It is worth reminding that "Sapsan" trains may begin running between Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod after the launch of the high-speed rail line connecting the capital and Saint Petersburg.
Earlier reports indicated that residents of Nizhny Novgorod were informed about ticket prices for "Lastochka" after complaints about high costs.
