      SportNizhny Novgorod Football Club "Pari Nizhny Novgorod" started the new season of the Russian Premier League with a defeat.

      In the first round, Nizhny Novgorod team faced the reigning champions, Krasnodar. The match ended with a score of 0:3.

      The game took place at the Ak Bars Arena in Kazan, as the home stadium of Pari NN in Nizhny Novgorod is still under renovation.

      Despite several promising attacks by the hosts, the score was opened by Krasnodar in the 40th minute of the first half. Forward Diego Costa headed the ball into the goal.

      In the second half, the situation for Pari NN worsened. In the 65th minute, defender Viktor Aleksandrov, under pressure, tried to pass the ball to his goalkeeper, but the pass was too strong — an own goal. This became the turning point of the match.

      Just two minutes later, Krasnodar increased the lead to a crushing score. After a mistake in the center of the field by midfielder Mamadou Maiga, the ball ended up with a guest player, who went one-on-one with the goalkeeper and passed to Eduard Spertsyan. The Armenian midfielder confidently finished the attack with a precise strike.

      By the way, this was Pari NN’s first official match under the new head coach Alexei Shpilevsky. Despite the disappointing result, the team played well, and according to social media comments, many fans were satisfied.

      "Of course, it hurts to accept such a result. But we are learning lessons, making conclusions, and continuing to work. Overall, I am pleased with the guys. They did a great job. During the match, we not only fought Krasnodar but even outperformed the national champion. Today, I saw a team that believes in itself. The guys did everything we demanded over the last four weeks. Everyone who understands football sees this. Thanks a lot to the players. We do not give up. We move forward," commented Shpilevsky on the post-match press conference.

      The next match for Nizhny Novgorod team will be on July 25 in Samara, where they will face Krylia Sovetov.

      It was previously reported that midfielder Alexander Ektov will not appear on the field until the end of the current year.
