      In Dzerzhinsk, a 34-year-old resident became a victim of scammers who convinced her to believe in an attractive online earning opportunity. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      As is known, at the beginning of July, the victim received a message via a messenger. Unknown individuals offered remote part-time work, allegedly involving "liking" posts and purchasing goods on a marketplace to help promote them.

      The woman agreed, and she was sent links to various products. To participate in the "earnings," she had to transfer money to the specified personal account.

      As a result, she transferred 237,700 rubles to the scammers, but received no profit.

      A criminal case has been opened under the article on fraud. Police are searching for the offenders.

      It was previously reported that a pensioner from Nizhny Novgorod lost over 14 million rubles due to "doorphone replacement."
