      Society On the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod region, including Nizhny Novgorod, prolonged and localized intense precipitation is expected throughout July 21. According to the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Upper-Volga UGMS," heavy rains will continue into the evening hours. Meteorologists warn that adverse weather conditions may lead to emergency situations, primarily local flooding caused by clogged storm drains and disruption of drainage systems. Additionally, heavy rainfall increases the risk of landslides and slope washouts, as well as the likelihood of traffic accidents. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region urges residents to take precautions. Drivers are strongly advised to reduce speed, especially on dirt roads and unstable shoulders. In poor visibility and on wet surfaces, the risk of skidding and loss of control increases.
