Nizhny Novgorod allergist Kulova warned about the dangers of mosquito spray.

Children with asthma should exercise particular caution. Narodnoy Allergologist and Pediatrician Ekaterina Kulova provided recommendations for the safe use of insect repellents. The doctor warned residents of Nizhny Novgorod after a tragic incident at a children's camp, where a 10-year-old girl died, presumably from poisoning by a repellent. This was reported by Alexey Nikonov on his Telegram channel "Bokal Presseka." Ekaterina Kulova explained that mosquito sprays can trigger allergic reactions. Symptoms, namely redness and swelling of the skin, appear almost immediately. In such cases, it is important to wash off the product as quickly as possible and take an antihistamine. Particular attention should be paid to children with bronchial asthma. According to the doctor, such patients are better off applying spray only on clothing and exclusively outdoors. It is also advisable to prefer ointments and creams over aerosols. The use of fumigant products in the presence of asthmatics is strictly not recommended, as they can cause airway obstruction. Commenting on the girl’s death, Kulova suggested there may have been a violation of the usage instructions: "Perhaps the child inhaled the vapors during spraying. Such cases are rare but possible." In case of inhalation of the repellent, the doctor advises to immediately rinse the eyes, mouth, and nose and go out into fresh air. The specialist recommends buying only trusted brands marked "for children" and always checking the expiration date.
