The output of the Nizhny Novgorod manufacturer increased by 10% thanks to participation in the federal project "Labor Productivity."

      Regional Competence Center (RCC) experts, together with employees of LLC "Rentcar" (Kstovo), summarized the implementation of tools from the federal project "Labor Productivity" of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy."

      The company specializes in the production and sale of products made from wood-polymer composite, in particular, decking boards, fencing boards, steps, railings, and fasteners.

      The process of manufacturing decking boards was chosen as the pilot stream. This product accounts for 86% of the company's revenue, so improvements here significantly increased the overall productivity across the enterprise.

      "Over six months, the specialists of the Regional Competence Center conducted an audit and identified 26 'bottlenecks', including prolonged equipment changeovers, cluttered production areas, and disorganized workplaces. Solutions were developed for each of these issues. For example, work regulations were implemented, unnecessary movements were eliminated, and storage areas for tools and products were organized. Thanks to the experts' work, the defect rate was reduced, and productivity increased by 10 percent in the pilot stream," said Maxim Cherkasov, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      Additionally, RCC experts trained 30 employees of the enterprise in lean technologies and prepared two internal trainers who will be able to independently train their colleagues in the future.

      Currently, nine wood-processing companies in the Nizhny Novgorod region are successfully implementing tools from the federal project "Labor Productivity."

      As of today, 290 companies in Nizhny Novgorod are working on implementing lean technologies with government support.

      According to the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy" will become the main tool for shaping a new growth model. It includes federal projects aimed at developing small and medium-sized enterprises, increasing labor productivity, boosting investment activity, low-carbon development, and advancing the state system of statistics and forecasting.
