In Nizhny Novgorod, local residents were found guilty of organizing and conducting gambling.

      The evidence collected by the investigator of the investigative department for the Soviet district of Nizhny Novgorod, of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region, was found by the court to be sufficient to sentence six residents of the region. They were found guilty of committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 171.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal organization and conduct of gambling games, committed by an organized group). The investigation and the court established that from June 2022 to June 2024, five women and one man, acting as an organized group by prior conspiracy, in a premises of a house located on Vaneeva Street in the Soviet district of Nizhny Novgorod, with the aim of illegally organizing and conducting gambling, in violation of federal law requirements outside the gaming zone, organized and conducted gambling using gaming equipment. In June 2024, during joint activities, investigators of the Russian Investigative Committee and officers of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region disrupted the illegal gambling activity of the gaming club. During urgent investigative actions, the gaming equipment was seized. The perpetrators illegally obtained more than 33.7 million rubles outside the gaming zone.
