Special Military Operation participant: "Victory will be ours — there are no other options!"
A Nizhny Novgorod participant in the special military operation with the call sign "Gik" has been serving as a communications specialist since autumn 2022. According to the soldier, he led an ordinary life before the NWO: school, mandatory military service, university, work, his own entrepreneurial business, family, and friends. When his military skills and strength became necessary for the country, he made a firm decision to go protect the Motherland: "It is my duty, my civil obligation." Svatovo, Soleder, Kramatorsk—these are the combat routes of the communication specialist. Setting up and repairing communication lines had to be done under fire, despite enemy drones, in any weather—cold, heat, torrential rains. "If during combat actions we go unnoticed and are not remembered, that's the best evaluation of the communication specialists' work. When there is communication with the command and all units for coordinated operation, no failures—this means all commands and information are received on time, and tasks are completed," says the Novgorod native. "Gik" has been awarded medals "Participant of the SVO" and "For Saving the Perishing" for his service. "I know my maternal grandfather fought in the war and received a 'For the Capture of Berlin' medal in 1945. My mother said he didn't like to talk about war details, protected his loved ones, and didn't consider himself a hero. Maybe I inherited his brevity. But I believe it’s essential to study and know our history, especially about the Great Patriotic War. It’s a lesson for us all to understand what’s happening today. Victory will be ours—there are no other options!" asserts the soldier. Earlier this year, he sustained a leg wound during another reconnaissance operation where he provided communication. He is currently on leave at home. He says that if doctors permit, he wants to return to service in his unit. The state provides material support to defenders of the Motherland and assists their families. Also, those who sign a contract and are sent to the SVO zone receive certificates for 10 plots of land in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The certificate can be used two years after receipt. Additionally, the region operates a mechanism for concluding military social contracts, which additionally guarantee each family 10,000 rubles per month for each child, benefits for utility payments, preschool services, and other support. Personal family accompaniment of servicemen is also provided. The transfer of residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region to their service locations and the issuance of additional equipment are managed by a coordination center for supporting mobilized servicemen and their families, based at the House of National Unity. Meanwhile, the region continues actively supporting servicemen by sending humanitarian aid to the SVO zone. Detailed information about contract service and provided equipment can be obtained at the Volunteer Recruitment Center by phone: 8-800-10-17-017 or on the website: https://служунн.рф/. The unified selection point is located at: Nizhny Novgorod, Ljukina St., 2.
