Applications for the governor's project "UP TO YOU!" have opened in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      From July 15 to September 15, 2025, residents of Nizhny Novgorod can submit applications to participate in the governor's initiative budgeting project "YOU DECIDE!". Thanks to this project, regional residents have the opportunity to independently set development and improvement priorities for local areas, propose initiatives, and receive funding for their implementation. In 2026, the project's funding will amount to 1.2 billion rubles.

      On the website VAM.GOLOSZA.RU (https://vam.golosza.ru/), residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region can submit electronic applications across eight categories: "Our Roads," "Our Yard," "Sports for All!," "The Best for Children," "Public Spaces," "Our Infrastructure," "Our Initiative," and "Youth Policy."

      "The 'YOU DECIDE!' project is not just a competition of projects; it is a real tool for territory development, based on the principle of citizen participation and engagement in decision-making processes. I believe every resident of the Nizhny Novgorod region should have the opportunity to influence budget processes and participate in setting priorities for their local development. This can include park and square improvements, road repairs, street lighting, creating children’s and sports grounds, and much more. The main point is that initiatives should originate from the citizens themselves," emphasized Gleb Nikitin, governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      Individuals, territorial public self-governments (TOPs), and village elders are eligible to apply. There is also an option to submit a "Family Application." Participants can track the status of their applications online in their personal account.

      "Creating comfortable living conditions for Nizhny Novgorod residents is our main goal. Thanks to the 'YOU DECIDE!' project, residents actively participate in improving their yards, schools, and kindergartens. Last year, nearly 590,000 people voted for initiatives important to them. Most works have already been completed by mid-summer, and children now have new playgrounds for recreation. I especially want to highlight family applications, which first appeared last year and will be accepted this year. Family applications help consider the interests of community members and unite families. Many thanks to everyone who participated in the project! In 2026, we will continue this work, and I am confident that residents will actively offer their ideas and monitor their implementation," noted Yevgeny Chintsov, chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma.
