Almost 180 km of roads near M-12 will be repaired in the Nizhny Novgorod region by the end of the year.

      During the construction of the M-12 expressway, 1,618 kilometers of regional roads were used. To restore the road network in Nizhny Novgorod Region, 419 kilometers were repaired in 2022–2023, and an additional 108 kilometers were repaired in 2024 by the efforts of the State Company "Avtodor."

      Residents of Nizhny Novgorod had previously requested to expedite repairs of roads damaged during the construction of the M-12.

      According to the NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" from the Main Directorate of Road Traffic of Nizhny Novgorod Region, contracts have already been signed for the repair of 182 kilometers of roads by 2025, of which over 25 kilometers have already been restored. In 2026, plans include repairing another 79 kilometers.

      Out of the total scope of work, 128 kilometers will be repaired directly by "Avtodor," which acts as the customer for the construction of the M-12. The work will be carried out within the framework of agreements concluded for 2025–2026.

      Additionally, the remaining over 700 kilometers of roads affected during the construction of the highway are included in cooperation memorandum projects. These documents have been agreed upon with the Ministry of Transport and Automobile Roads of Nizhny Novgorod Region in cooperation with the State Company "Russian Roads" and have been submitted to the Federal Road Agency.

      Currently, the signing of these memoranda is expected, which will enable the continuation of restoring the regional road infrastructure.

      It was previously reported that nearly 140 kilometers of roads damaged during the construction of the M-12 expressway would be restored in Nizhny Novgorod Region.
