A criminal case has been initiated in the Nizhny Novgorod region based on social media reports about a dog attack on a child.

      During media monitoring, a publication was identified reporting that on July 14 of this year, a domestic dog attacked a child in the Gorodetsky District of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, resulting in bodily injuries. Following this incident, an investigator from the Gorodets Interdistrict Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region promptly opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 118 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing serious harm to health through negligence). Currently, investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia are conducting a series of investigative actions aimed at establishing all circumstances of the incident.
