The first specialized electrical engineering class in Nizhny Novgorod opened at School No. 123.

On July 14, 2025, at 17:50 [134], Society School No. 123 of the Lenin District, in partnership with R.E. Alekseev State Technical University, launched the first specialized electrical energy class in Nizhny Novgorod with in-depth studies in physics and mathematics.

The industrial partner of School No. 123 is the En+ energy holding. Starting from the new academic year, employees of the En+ TEPLO Volga group will conduct lessons on electrical safety with the students, invite them to participate in company volunteer projects, and offer employment options for students aged 14 during the summer. The top graduates of the electrical energy class will have the opportunity to continue their studies at the Polytechnic University under targeted training agreements.

Future energy specialists are already familiarizing themselves with the work of energy supply organizations. For example, in June, high school students visited the Autozavodskaya TPP and the Factory Networks on guided tours.

"Specialized training for students allows for a harmonious combination of theoretical knowledge and practical application, providing young people with a confident start in university education and their professional careers," noted Mikhail Yefimov, acting General Director of the Nizhny Novgorod branch of LLC En+ TEPLO Volga.

At the academic partner, Polytechnic University, future energy students will study the fundamentals of electrical engineering and power engineering, perform laboratory work using modern educational equipment. Successfully participating in scientific-practical conferences and Olympiads will not only enhance their university admission portfolios but also give them an advantage through additional points for the Unified State Exam (EGE).

"It is very important that pre-professional training in schools meets the demands of the national economy. Skilled specialists are essential in the vital energy sector, which affects every person's life. It’s great that our students will have the chance to affirm their professional choice and take their first steps in the profession during high school. I am confident this will have a positive impact on energy sector enterprises," said Boris Kotelnikov, principal of School No. 123.

According to Vladimir Radchenko, director of the Department of Education at the Nizhny Novgorod Administration, 112 engineering classes are currently open in 38 Nizhny Novgorod schools, at both basic and upper secondary levels. "Creating specialized classes in schools is not just a trend but a conscious necessity of the modern education system. The energy industry requires deep knowledge from the start of one’s career, and early specialization allows students to master the basics under experienced mentors, ensuring they can successfully work in this strategically vital sector in the future," Radchenko stated.

Employees of En+ TEPLO Volga conduct ongoing career guidance work in educational institutions in Nizhny Novgorod, establishing joint interaction plans with school administrations for organizing activities for children. For example, from the new academic year, School No. 15 will open a pre-profile 7th grade with chemistry classes in addition to the 10th grade engineering and technology class.

Moreover, the "School 800" and Lyceum No. 40 are equipped with modern competency development centers "MultiLab En+" featuring state-of-the-art technology. Students are trained there in IT, engineering, 3D modeling, and robotics.
