The Ministry of Construction of Russia announced the start of the "Urban Intonations" competition.

The Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Utilities of the Russian Federation announced the launch of the "Urban Tones" competition, aimed at supporting local communities and projects that improve the urban environment. Among the goals of the competition are strengthening local identity and disseminating successful practices of citizen participation in shaping a comfortable urban space. The contest is divided into four categories: "Community Power," "Media for the City," "Business Nearby," and "Assembly Point." Active residents, bloggers, citizen initiatives, public associations, non-profit and educational organizations, media, and corporate foundations (implementing projects in partnership with communities) are invited to participate.

The competition is conducted in two stages. The first stage involves an offline expert selection of applications. Successful candidates will be invited to the second, in-person stage—the All-Russian Community and Development Initiatives Festival—where the finalists will be announced.

The award ceremony will be held as part of the National Award for the Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment in December 2025.

Applications are accepted on the official website: https://urbanintonations.ru/award until September 30, 2025, inclusive. Contest entries are accepted in one of three formats: videos up to 3 minutes long in MP4 format (no more than 300 MB); longreads (essays with photos) up to 7,000 characters with spaces in DOC or PDF format, with up to 10 photos in JPG, JPEG, or PNG formats (each no larger than 10 MB); and audio podcasts up to 15 minutes in MP3 format (no more than 100 MB).

Full participation guidelines are also available on the contest website. The event supports the achievement of the targets of the national project "Infrastructure for Life" and the federal project "Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment."
