On July 12, a solemn event took place at the Historical Victory Museum — the ceremony of swearing in new recruits of the 154th Separate Commandant Preobrazhensky Regiment. The ceremony was attended by conscripts from the Nizhny Novgorod region, as well as from other subjects of the Moscow Military District.
Representatives of the regiment's command, veteran and public organizations, and relatives of the conscripts were invited to the event.
The young soldiers solemnly pledged to be loyal to their Motherland, to protect the freedom and independence of the country, and to become worthy defenders of the Fatherland.
The ritual was held in the grandeur Hall of Glory, where the names of over 12,000 heroes of the Great Patriotic War — Heroes of the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation — are inscribed on the pylons.
The 154th Separate Commandant Preobrazhensky Regiment performs vital tasks related to ensuring security and order at state events. The regiment conducts official ceremonies involving the President and the Prime Minister of Russia, both domestically and abroad. Additionally, the regiment participates in welcoming and farewelling foreign delegations, laying wreaths at the "Tomb of the Unknown Soldier" memorial near the Kremlin wall, and organizing military parades and other significant events.
As previously reported, over 1,000 residents of Nizhny Novgorod joined elite units during the spring conscription. Among them, more than 100 recruits were sent to the Preobrazhensky and Semyonovsky regiments.
