The court awarded 7 million rubles for the death of a resident of the Nizhny Novgorod region due to "Mister Sidr". According to the unified press service of the courts of general jurisdiction in the Nizhny Novgorod region, the Bogorodsky court awarded compensation for moral damages in favor of the relatives of the woman who died as a result of poisoning from the drink "Mister Sidr," which contained methanol. The decision was made on August 31, 2026. In June 2023, the woman purchased cider in Bogorodsk, which later turned out to be deadly due to methanol content. The drink was produced and sold in retail chains and stores in Russia by Anar Ayrapetyan and Artyom Guseynov. They had previously been convicted by the court (under part 3 of article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The relatives of the deceased — mother, husband, and minor children — were recognized as victims in the criminal case. In court, they stated that the illegal actions of the defendants caused them moral and emotional suffering related to the loss of a loved one and requested compensation for moral damages of 3 million rubles each. The Bogorodsky city court partially satisfied the claims. From each of the convicted, 500,000 rubles were awarded to the mother of the deceased. In favor of the husband and minor children, 1.5 million rubles were awarded from each of the defendants. The court's decision has not yet entered into legal force and can therefore be appealed.
