The Nizhny Novgorod branch of "United Russia" approved a new regional People's Program.

The Nizhny Novgorod branch of "United Russia" approved a new regional People's Program.

A conference of the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of "United Russia" took place in Nizhny Novgorod. More than 350 delegates participated. During the working meeting, a new People's Program for the next five years was adopted.

"All the decisions of the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region are based on a simple goal: to make people's lives better and to make the Nizhny Novgorod region stronger, more modern, and more attractive for living. A person, their interests and needs are the main focus of our work. The Nizhny Novgorod region is a land with a great history, strong industry, talented people, beautiful nature, and enormous opportunities," said Gleb Nikitin, the secretary of the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of "United Russia."

The regional People's Program is based on a federal document formed with the input of nearly 3.5 million proposals from citizens across the country. More than 200,000 initiatives were submitted by residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

Senator of the Russian Federation Olga Shchetinina added: "The election program outlines the tasks and priorities facing the party and deputies at all levels. It is important that the program reflects the real needs of the people and defines the directions for further work: development of territories, support for families and youth, modernization of social infrastructure, economy, and urban environment," she noted.

The program defines key areas for the region's development over the next five years. Its main focus is on people, their interests, and needs.

"The priorities of the program are synchronized with the instructions of the President of Russia. First and foremost, it concerns support for families with children, improving the demographic situation, assistance to participants of the Special Military Operation and their families, modernization of engineering and transport infrastructure, construction and renovation of schools, hospitals, and kindergartens. A separate direction is the comprehensive development of rural areas, improving the quality of life in small settlements," emphasized State Duma deputy Yuri Stankevich.

The program includes measures to support families and increase birth rates. Thanks to systematic work, including within the framework of the Nizhny Novgorod program "Foundation," the region has achieved stable growth in birth rates.

The program also addresses issues of healthcare modernization, construction and renovation of social facilities, and development of sports infrastructure.

"For the deputies of the Legislative Assembly, it is important that the program becomes not just a declaration, but a working tool. It is necessary to monitor its implementation and ensure that each point is realized within the established deadlines," noted the chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Evgeny Lyulin.

One of the sections of the program is social support. Development of a long-term care system, rehabilitation, support for the elderly, people with disabilities, as well as comprehensive rehabilitation for participants of the Special Military Operation and their family members. Work to support veterans and their families.

"As the chair of the committee on social issues, I believe that the social block of the program should be filled with real actions. I know that the program includes requests for kindergartens, schools, and medical institutions. It is important that support measures are targeted and reach everyone who needs them," noted Legislative Assembly deputy Natalia Smotrakova.

The program pays attention to the development of the economy, industry, and human resources potential. The Nizhny Novgorod region is among the top five leaders in implementing the "Professionalism" project, and this year a grant was won to create six more clusters. A Center for the Development of Industrial Robotics has been launched based at NGTU, a technopark "Stark" is under construction, and the creation of a world-class IT campus "NEIMARK" continues.

"It is necessary to prepare legislative initiatives at the regional level to ensure the practical implementation of the program's provisions. It is important for residents to see that their proposals become real projects that benefit the people of Nizhny Novgorod," commented Legislative Assembly deputy Maxim Rebrov.

The program also provides for the development of tourism, culture, improvement of public spaces, and modernization of transport infrastructure. Over the past five years, thousands of yards and public areas have been improved in the region, the tram fleet has been updated, and the construction of new metro stations and bypass roads continues.

"One of the points of the program is systematic improvement. In recent years, we have managed to build an effective model: we have implemented convenient digital platforms that have made the process of citizen participation in decision-making quick and transparent. The task today is to scale this successful experience so that quality changes occur not just in isolated cases, but in every municipality," noted the first deputy chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma, Evgeny Kostin.

Youth policy has also become one of the themes of the program. The chairman of the Youth Parliament under the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Vladimir Moskalenko, noted: "Youth policy is one of the directions of the People's Program. The Youth Parliament has the right to legislative initiative, and it is now proposed to grant the same right to municipal youth parliaments so that young people in the regions can submit their initiatives and receive support in the councils of deputies. One of the directions is the development of youth spaces. Seventeen youth centers have already been opened in the Nizhny Novgorod region, and their number will continue to grow."

As a result of the conference, the program was unanimously adopted by the delegates. The document will serve as the basis for the work of deputies and the entire team of the regional branch for the next five years. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
