The "Constellation of Reading Families" center has opened at the library in Arzamas.

      On September 2, 2026, at 15:36, Culture and Recreation: The children's cultural and educational center "Constellation of Reading Families" has opened at the Berezovskaya rural library in the city of Arzamas, created as part of the national project "Family." This was reported by the Ministry of Culture of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. "Starting this year, the creation of children's centers based on museums, libraries, and cultural centers has become another direction of the national project 'Family.' The first children's center appeared at the Berezovskaya rural library, one of the largest and oldest in Arzamas. Its creation was a logical step in development: the library is not a children's one, but it works with preschoolers and students from the rural school, receiving children from school camps, which amounts to about 1,500 young readers. Thanks to participation in the national project, equipment for a multimedia studio, a 3D printer, tablets, interactive and multimedia equipment, and more than 700 new books, including books and albums on painting, architecture, and music, were acquired in Berezovka. Plans already include teaching readers various artistic techniques, recording podcasts, and much more," noted the Minister of Culture of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Natalia Sukhanova. The task of the children's center based in the library will be to promote family reading and cultural enlightenment of the younger generation. As part of the new direction of the national project "Family," the children's center is equipped with comfortable furniture and new multimedia equipment. There are several thematic zones: "Read-Play" for children aged 2 to 6, "Idea Laboratory" for creative studio activities, including professional audio and video content recording, as well as a creativity zone for conducting master classes and a reading zone for independent work. A total of 3.8 million rubles from the federal budget was allocated for the equipment of the children's cultural and educational center. Like model libraries, the new children's center has access to electronic collections of state libraries, the National Electronic Library, and the National Electronic Children's Library, as well as other socially significant online services. "A modern library today should be more than just a set of bookshelves. And in Berezovka, we opened a kind of multimedia hub. We invested both federal resources and the efforts of our specialists who underwent retraining at the Russian State Children's Library. And even if initially only one child takes advantage of these new opportunities, we already consider this work to be excellently done. This means that this child has an equal chance with peers from larger cities to discover their talent," said the mayor of Arzamas, Alexander Shchelokov.
