The Nizhny Novgorod manufacturer of special equipment has increased production thanks to the federal project.

      On August 31, 2026, at 17:23, Economy Experts from the Regional Competence Center (RCC) together with employees of LLC "Special Transport Machines" (LLC "STM") from the city of Zavolzhye summarized the interim results of implementing lean production tools within the framework of the federal project "Labor Productivity" of the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy." The company specializes in the production of all-terrain vehicles and amphibious vehicles, as well as trailers for them. RCC specialists have been working at the participating enterprises of the federal project for six months. After three months, an Information Day is held, during which experts summarize the results and present plans for the second part of the project. The production process of the wheeled amphibious vehicle STM-39963 was chosen as the pilot flow at the enterprise. "RCC specialists conducted an audit at the enterprise and identified 27 problems in the flow, including excessive movements and relocations of employees, lack of information updates in accounting systems, and an unoptimized tool storage system. Solutions were developed for each of these points, and an action plan was created. The implementation of the RCC experts' proposals will increase output by 28 percent and reduce the production time of the amphibious vehicle by 26 percent," said Maxim Cherkasov, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. RCC experts also trained 16 employees of the enterprise in lean technologies and are preparing two internal trainers who will be able to independently train their colleagues in the future. Currently, lean technologies within the framework of the federal project "Labor Productivity" are being implemented by four Nizhny Novgorod organizations producing special-purpose vehicles.
