Gleb Nikitin visited the new building of secondary school No. 2 in Vorsma.
On September 1, 2026, at 13:57, in the city of Vorsma, Pavlovsky Municipal District, the updated Secondary School No. 2 was opened. Instead of the building constructed in 1959, a modern educational space has emerged. The three-story building, with an area of almost 13,000 square meters, is located at: Stroitelya St., 10.
On Knowledge Day, the school was visited by the Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region, Gleb Nikitin, Deputy Governor Andrey Checherin, Minister of Education of the region Mikhail Puchkov, Senator of the Russian Federation Olga Shchetinina, Deputy Minister of Internal Regional and Municipal Policy of Nizhny Novgorod Region Dmitry Grachev, Head of Local Self-Government of Pavlovsky District Alexey Kirillov, and Deputy of the Regional Legislative Assembly Igor Norenkov. The tour of the school for the guests was conducted by the director of the educational institution, Ekaterina Arkhipova.
In addition to classrooms, the new school has two sports halls, an assembly hall for 288 seats, a cafeteria for 248 seats, and a food block with production rooms and workshops, a full-fledged medical block, as well as modular and electronic libraries. The "highlight" of the school is its own planetarium.
As Gleb Nikitin noted, the new school is designed for 600 students. Thanks to the increased capacity, the educational process will be organized only in the first shift. This means that children will have more opportunities for additional education—they will be able to engage in various sections and clubs.
"There is a completely special atmosphere at the solemn line-up on September 1. Eleventh graders are entering the most decisive year of their lives: they need to truly concentrate and determine who they want to become. This is a very important moment of choice," emphasized the governor.
Today, 50 first-graders began their journey to knowledge at Secondary School No. 2 in the city of Vorsma. Gleb Nikitin addressed the children and wished them to "get the most out of their studies."
"We built this school with every child in mind. There are no thresholds here—there are ramps and elevators everywhere, so it is easy to access any classroom or gym in a wheelchair. For the little ones from primary school, we made a separate entrance with its own yard, so they do not intersect with high school students. Cozy relaxation areas for our 'eagles' and kids from the 'Movement of the First' have appeared on the floors. And most importantly, these are not just new walls: the school is fully equipped with modern equipment that is state-of-the-art," noted the school director, Ekaterina Arkhipova.
The governor also congratulated the students and teachers of other educational institutions in the city of Pavlov on Knowledge Day. At the Pavlov Automobile Mechanical College named after I.I. Leps, the regional head was shown modern workshops and classrooms. This is the result of the implementation of the federal project "Professionalism" within the national project "Youth and Children."
"In 2025, one of the clusters of 'Professionalism' in the field of 'Machine Engineering' was opened based on the Pavlov Automobile Mechanical College named after I.I. Leps. Students hone their skills on equipment used in real industrial production. Many students begin their careers already in their senior years—the main employer for them is the Pavlov Bus Plant, which has made a significant contribution to the creation of the cluster," reminded Andrey Checherin.
The deputy governor emphasized that leading enterprises in the region clearly understand why it is necessary to invest their own funds in the modernization of technical schools and colleges. This strategy allows attracting young personnel who will not require training or retraining.
As part of the "Professionalism" project, workshops have been created in the college in 9 areas, including welding technologies, painting, assembly-body production, heat treatment, industrial automation and electronics, and others.
Importantly, this year, as part of the national project, a major renovation of the dormitory for out-of-town students is also underway at the college. After the completion of the work, its capacity will double—to 240 people.
The third point of the visit was Secondary School No. 17—it was opened quite recently, in November 2025. Various educational spaces and specialized equipment, including augmented reality equipment, were demonstrated to Gleb Nikitin. Thanks to such equipment, students acquire real skills in in-demand technical fields from a very young age.
The regional head paid special attention to the school museum of military glory. Here, the children carefully preserve the memory of the feats of heroes of the Great Patriotic War and our days—a significant section of the exhibition is dedicated to the special military operation.
"In the Nizhny Novgorod region, serious work is being done to create comfortable conditions for our children's education: schools are being built and updated, additional and vocational education is developing, modern spaces and new equipment are appearing. At the same time, the main thing is that behind all these changes stands the quality of education and opportunities for every child, regardless of where they live. The overall task is to systematically develop the education system and create conditions for both children and those who work with them every day," summarized Dmitry Grachev, Deputy Minister of Internal Regional and Municipal Policy of Nizhny Novgorod Region.
Let us remind you that the national project "Youth and Children" is being implemented in the country by order of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. It includes nine federal projects and programs: "Russia—A Country of Opportunities," "We Are Together," "Russia in the World," "All the Best for Children," "Leading Schools," "Teachers and Mentors," "Creating a Network of Modern Campuses," "Universities for the Generation of Leaders," and "Professionalism."
