      On August 26, 2026, at 15:54, the society conducted the ark with the right hand of Saint Spyridon of Trimythous from the Holy Trinity Seraphimo-Diveevo Convent to Nizhny Novgorod. The relic will remain in the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese until August 27, 2026.

      Before the farewell, a moleben to Saint Spyridon was held at the Transfiguration Cathedral of the Diveevo Monastery. It was led by the vicar of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese, Bishop Innocent of Sormovo, with the clergy of the diocese serving alongside him. The service was attended by the abbess of the monastery, Igumenia Sergia (Konkova), with the sisters, representatives of the Greek delegation, parishioners, and pilgrims.

      After the moleben, the ark with the right hand of Saint Spyridon was ceremoniously sent off to the regional center. The head of the Greek delegation, Schema-Archimandrite Hilarion (Michael), accompanies the relic.

      In Nizhny Novgorod, the meeting with the relic is scheduled for the evening of August 26 at the intersection of Strelka and Samarkand streets. Following this, there will be a procession and an all-night vigil at the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.

      At midnight on August 27, the Divine Liturgy will begin in the cathedral. Molebens with an akathist will take place tonight and tomorrow during the day.

      The farewell of the relic from Nizhny Novgorod is scheduled for the evening of August 27. The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral will be open 24 hours for veneration of the ark on August 26 and 27.

      The ark is accompanied by a Greek delegation, which includes the clergy of the Church of Saint Spyridon of Trimythous in Corfu on the island of Corfu. The relics of the saint are permanently kept there. The stay of the relic in the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese is taking place with the blessing of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Rus.

      Saint Spyridon of Trimythous lived in the 3rd-4th centuries. After his death, his relics were initially located in Trimythous, later transferred to Constantinople, and after the fall of the Byzantine Empire, taken out of the city. Since 1456, they have been on the island of Corfu. Currently, the relics are kept in the Cathedral of Saint Spyridon in Corfu.
