      Last week, officers from a separate platoon of the patrol and post service of the police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Arzamas" detained a 36-year-old local resident, who was wanted at the federal level, near one of the houses on Lenin Avenue. Previously, the man had repeatedly been held criminally liable for committing property crimes. The police established that the wanted individual was hiding from the investigative authorities regarding criminal cases initiated on the grounds of crimes stipulated by part 1 of article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft). According to the investigation, the man is involved in a series of thefts of goods from chain stores in the city. Additionally, a criminal case is being investigated against the detainee for the crime stipulated by part 1 of article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, concerning the illegal acquisition of a narcotic substance in significant amounts. It was established that after investigative actions were conducted, the subject stopped appearing for summons from the investigator, ignored subpoenas, and hid from the investigative authorities, which led to him being declared wanted at the federal level. After the detention, the man was taken to the territorial police department. He was charged with all the incriminated episodes. The court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave and to behave properly. Currently, the criminal cases have been consolidated into one proceeding. Police officers are conducting a comprehensive set of investigative actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the illegal activities and securing the evidence base. The investigation is ongoing.
