Ayrat Akhmetshin has left the position of head of the Nizhny Novgorod Investigative Committee.

This information was confirmed to NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" by a source in the law enforcement agencies.

      Officially, there has been no announcement regarding Akhmetshin's resignation. However, his name is no longer listed in the "Leadership" section on the website of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee. Alexander Dynkov is currently listed as the acting first deputy head of the Investigative Department.

      Airat Akhmetshin has been working in investigative bodies since 1995. In 2010, he was appointed deputy head of the Investigative Committee for Tatarstan. In 2017, he headed the investigative department in the Kirov region, and in 2019, he took charge in the Nizhny Novgorod region. In December 2024, his powers as head of the Nizhny Novgorod department were extended for five years.

      According to sources from "Business Online," Akhmetshin will take the position of chief federal inspector for Tatarstan. It is worth noting that Airat Sayetovich is a native of Kazan.
