The possible consequences were discussed by Tatiana Pavlova, the director of the Nizhny Novgorod branch of the scientific center for dermatovenerology and cosmetology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, and a dermatologist. Her words were quoted by the Telegram channel "Bokal-pressika." According to the specialist, rusty water can cause oxidative stress and disrupt the natural protective barrier of the epidermis. As a result, dryness of the skin, microcracks, and itching may occur. Such water also has a negative effect on hair. People with dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea should be especially cautious. In the presence of these diseases, the doctor warned against using rusty water. Nizhny Novgorod residents were also advised to limit shower time to five minutes, use cool water, and avoid soap with a harsh pH. After water procedures, the specialist recommends applying cream to help restore the skin's protective barrier.
