Last Sunday, August 9, a trip on the riverboat along the Volga nearly turned into a tragedy for a resident of Severodvinsk (Arkhangelsk region). The elderly passenger felt unwell, and the ship's specialists immediately requested assistance from the shore. All signs indicated that the man was developing anaphylactic shock. His condition required immediate hospitalization. According to reports, at the time of the incident, the riverboat was already far from a place where it could dock. The journey could take more than an hour. Fortunately, at that time, the "Valday" was in Balakhna, and its crew, in collaboration with specialists from the nearest hospital — Balakhna Central District Hospital — delivered medical personnel directly to the riverboat. The patient was loaded on board and taken to the Balakhna pier. From there, the victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Thus, thanks to the prompt and coordinated actions of Nizhny Novgorod specialists, the man's life was saved. Resuscitators and on-duty doctors of the Central District Hospital managed to stabilize the patient's condition in less than an hour. By now, the man has already been transferred to the therapeutic department.
