Young residents of Nizhny Novgorod were invited to the contest "The History of Kaliningrad in Faces."

The best works of teenagers will be included in the publicly accessible digital Gallery of Glory and Unity. Residents of Nizhny Novgorod aged 14 to 17 can participate in the all-Russian historical and educational competition "The History of Kaliningrad in Faces." Participants are invited to explore family archives and tell the stories of their ancestors. The competition is held as part of a project dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the formation of Kaliningrad Region. It will bring together teenagers from different regions of Russia, whose residents participated in the restoration of the region in the post-war years. Participants will need to study family archives, restore the biographies of resettler ancestors, and prepare a creative work. It can be presented in one of five nominations: "Generation of Creators," "I Am Proud," "Portrait Against the Background of an Era," "Heroes of Victory," and "Creative Future." Literary essays, historical research, and presentations are accepted. Participation in the competition is free. The best works will become part of the digital Gallery of Glory and Unity—a virtual museum dedicated to the history of the region and its residents. Winners will be invited to the Festival of Unity in Kaliningrad. They will be organized for awards, excursions, meetings with the first settlers and their descendants, visits to museums, and other events. The organizers will cover the costs of travel, accommodation, and meals for the winners. Detailed participation conditions are published on the official competition website.
