      Nizhny Novgorod is saying a final goodbye to the "Russia" cinema. The building at the intersection of Lenin Avenue and Zarechny Boulevard is planned to be completely demolished by the end of December 2027. This was reported by NIA "Nizhny Novgorod".

      These deadlines are specified in the territory planning project, which the authorities have put up for public discussion. Earlier, officials and the investor had already approved an agreement for the comprehensive development of the area where the vacant building is located, and now the details have become available for criticism and suggestions from residents until August 17. A 25-story high-rise building, designed for nearly 600 apartments, will rise on the site of the demolished giant. More than 900 people will be able to settle in the building, for whom an underground parking lot for 217 spaces will be provided. The development will not only be residential: nearby, a two-story sports complex with artificial ice is promised to be built. It will open hockey and figure skating sections, as well as organize mass skating for everyone who wishes. New sidewalks, bike paths, and repairs to engineering networks will be laid around the block.

      

      

       Work on the 1.74-hectare site will begin only after the repair of hydraulic engineering tunnels in the area is completed and the "Zarechnaya" cable car station is launched in 2027.
