The Council of Young Scientists has transitioned to a new format in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      The first meeting of the updated Council of Young Scientists took place in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The Council will now operate under the government of the region. The event was also attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Ekaterina Solntseva, and the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the region, Viktor Anisimov. A key decision was the approval of the Council's operational regulations. The document defines the order of internal organization of its work, conducting meetings and making decisions, forming working groups, participation of Council members in projects and events, as well as interaction with partner organizations. "The new status of the Council means not just a formal change of name, but an expansion of its responsibilities. We see the Council as a permanent platform for substantive dialogue between the government and young scientists. It is necessary to provide professional assessments, a consolidated position of the scientific community, and specific initiatives that can contribute to the development of the region and strengthen its scientific and technological leadership," noted Ekaterina Solntseva. "The Ministry is interested in the Council becoming a permanent professional body that unites the initiatives of young scientists and translates them into concrete proposals and projects. For this, it is necessary to establish sustainable feedback with universities, scientific organizations, and enterprises, systematically identify the needs of researchers, and create conditions for their participation in solving the tasks of scientific and technological development of the Nizhny Novgorod region," emphasized Viktor Anisimov. In its further work, the Council will focus on preparing proposals for measures of grant, scholarship, and other support, developing mentoring and professional communications, facilitating the implementation of research results, as well as organizing scientific and scientific-representative events. The new composition of 28 people will continue the practice of projects established in 2021-2025. During this period, the Council participated in the All-Russian Congress of Councils of Young Scientists and Student Scientific Societies, forums on "Scientific Antifragility," science festivals, and other regional initiatives. The main tasks of the Decade are to attract talented youth to the field of research and development, involve researchers and developers in solving the most important tasks of societal and national development, as well as increase the awareness of Russians about the achievements and prospects of domestic science.
