Night Run 2026 in the "Capital of Sunsets": Photo Report

      On August 3, 2026, at 09:56, Sport1 reported that the fourth Night Run took place in Nizhny Novgorod as part of the "Capital of Sunsets" (18+). More than 5,500 people, both professional athletes and running enthusiasts, took to the start line to test their strength in distances of 2.5 or 10 km. The routes for all distances were laid out along the Nizhnevolzhskaya embankment. About a third of the runners were guests from other regions of Russia, emphasized the regional Ministry of Sports. The head of the relevant ministry, Dmitry Kabailo, noted that the Night Run has become one of the most recognizable sporting events in the region: "There is a special atmosphere here - the beauty of the night city, music along the route, support from volunteers. Many are participating for the first time right here. Such events help take the first step towards a healthy lifestyle." After the finish, participants were greeted with awards, a concert featuring musicians, and a light show that could be seen on the walls of the Kremlin. The event aligns with the goals of the state program "Sport of Russia," aimed at developing mass sports and engaging residents in regular physical activity.
