Nizhny Novgorod residents were told how the construction of metro stations in the city center is progressing.

      July 27, 2026 17:15 Society The construction of new metro stations on the Avtozavodskaya line is proceeding on schedule. This was reported to NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" by the MKU "GUMMiD". The pace of work varies in different sections due to the technological features of the process. Currently, specialists are actively working on the excavation of the left tunnel section from the "Gorkovskaya" station to Freedom Square. The tunnel boring machine (TBM) "Yevdokiya" has already covered more than 100 meters of the planned 730, and the second shield is being prepared for launch. In the sections of the tunnel that are already ready, workers are setting up a rigid foundation.

      "Next, in all tunnels, the construction of the upper structure of the track (rails, communications) and the erection of the station complexes 'Sennaya' and 'Freedom Square' with vestibules will take place," GUMMiD reported.

      The planned completion date for construction and installation work is set for December 2027. It is worth noting that over 20 billion rubles have been allocated in the budget of Nizhny Novgorod for the implementation of the metro extension project to "Sennaya" for the years 2026-2027.
