A resident of Kstovo received 16 years in a penal colony for the brutal murder of his wife.

      On July 31, 2026, at 18:31, Incidents: A 36-year-old resident of Kstovo was sentenced in Nizhny Novgorod. He was found guilty of murdering his wife with particular cruelty, the regional court's press service reported. The crime occurred in November 2025 in an apartment on 2nd Microdistrict Street in Kstovo. During a domestic quarrel, the man brutally beat his 35-year-old wife in the presence of their two young children. The convicted man inflicted at least 43 blows with his hands and feet to her head and body, banged her head against the wall, and jumped on her body. Experts counted more than 40 traumatic impacts in total. She died at the scene from her injuries. The man was sentenced to 16 years of imprisonment in a strict regime correctional colony. After his release, he will also be restricted in his freedom for 1 year and 6 months. The sentence has not yet entered into legal force.
