The interest of Nizhny Novgorod residents in 5G smartphones has increased by 28%.

The Nizhny Novgorod region has made it into the top ten regions where residents are already using 5G smartphones. This was reported by analysts from MegaFon, who studied the data of devices registered on the network.

      More than others, residents of the two capitals are ready for high-speed internet surfing. Almost a third of all 5G devices registered on the operator's network are accounted for by Moscow, St. Petersburg, and the Moscow and Leningrad regions. In addition to the Nizhny Novgorod region, the top ten regions by subscriber share also include the Samara, Rostov, and Sverdlovsk regions.

      In the mass market, smartphones are becoming key drivers of the transition to new communication standards. According to analysts, the most popular brand of devices supporting 5G in Russia on the MegaFon network is Samsung. Almost half of the subscribers who choose models with fifth-generation network support are using smartphones from this vendor.

      Also popular are Xiaomi, Honor, Realme, and Tecno. This year, the share of Vivo has significantly increased—the number of gadgets in the hands of subscribers has doubled.

      At the same time, the best-selling brand of mobile phones with 5G support in the combined retail network of MegaFon and Yota has become Xiaomi, accounting for about half of the total sales share of such devices. The most popular model is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro with 512 GB in the price segment of 26,000 to 52,000 rubles.
